Certificate of Authenticity

A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is a document issued by a reputable source that confirms the genuineness of an artwork. Often, COAs are signed by the artist, but they can also be signed by the gallery representing the artist or the printmaker who collaborated on the piece. For works sold in the secondary market, COAs are frequently issued by authorized estates or foundations.

COAs usually contain the artist's name, the artwork's title, date, medium, and dimensions, and, whenever possible, an image of the piece.

Original oil on canvas
painting by David Hardy. This work explores landscapes through abstraction, and the mind’s natural tendency to find forms in the undefined. Calming, meditative, and inspired by the subtleties of nature, this painting invites reflection, interpretation and quiet engagement. Drawing inspiration from the sky, natural landscapes, and the fluid nature of memory. The work is created through the meticulous blending of colour and explores the emotional resonance of light and space. The absence of clear lines or defined forms gives the viewer the freedom to project their own emotions, memories, and thoughts onto the piece. The work becomes a mirror, reflecting back the viewer’s inner world, rather than imposing a fixed meaning or feeling.
