One-of-a-kind piece

Swedish functionalist table lamp with a reeded nickel-plated stem and a lacquered black wooden ball, set on a round green marble base with small metal feet. A striking mix of materials brought together in simple, clean lines, typical of the 1930s–40s. Functionalism was the Swedish expression of the modernist ideas coming out of the Bauhaus and continental Europe, replacing heavy ornament with clear shapes, honest materials and everyday usefulness. This lamp captures that spirit well: practical, well made and quietly decorative. Paired with a new white linen lampshade. Dimensions Height without shade: 32 cm (12.6") Height with shade: 40 cm (15.7") Shade diameter: 30 cm (11.8") Base diameter: 16 cm (6.3")
