Hand-cast, pigmented plaster cubes form an abstract geometric composition. Although reminiscent of painting, the composition is created entirely from individually cast gypsum elements, with the pigment integrated into the material rather than applied to the surface. Despite the nature of plaster, the surface is exceptionally smooth, polished and finished with wax to achieve a refined, almost ceramic-like quality. Subtle variations in height create a delicate relief, allowing light and shadow to move gently across the surface. The waxed plaster surface is delicate and may scratch through contact with hard or sharp objects. The work is enclosed in a solid wax-finished charred wood frame that helps protect the composition. Handle with care. Each element is cast, sun-dried and finished by hand in the artist’s Rio de Janeiro studio. The work is ready to ship. Signed and dated; accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Dimensions: H 68 × W 56 × D 5 cm (H 26.7 × W 22.1 × D 2 in).
