AD5 floor lamp by Woka, based on a documented German Bauhaus design from 1924. The lamp is defined by its highly functional construction, with a slender upright, circular base and broad adjustable shade. The articulated structure allows the lamp to swivel and the shade to be repositioned, reflecting the Bauhaus emphasis on utility, mechanical clarity and reduced geometric form. The model appears in the Woka archive as the AD5, product no. 55, where the original design is dated to 1924 and attributed broadly to the German Bauhaus rather than to an individual designer. WOKA Lamps Vienna was established by Wolfgang Karolinsky, whose research and collecting focused on early 20th-century applied arts and lighting. Beginning with the restoration of historical lamps in the 1970s, WOKA developed into a specialist manufacturer of historically documented lighting. The company acquired original tools and, for numerous designs, manufacturing rights, producing its editions by hand in Vienna using traditional metalworking techniques. Their models are made in very small numbers.
