The ribs expand from a narrow crown into a broad, spindle-shaped silhouette, giving the shade an almost architectural sense of volume.\n\nThe fibrous cocoon surface softly diffuses the light while allowing the underlying framework to remain visible. When illuminated, the shade produces a warm, mottled glow that emphasises the depth and irregularity of the material. A particularly expressive example of German mid-century lighting, balancing sculptural form with atmospheric light.  \n\nGood vintage condition with age-related wear. The cocoon membrane shows yellowing, scattered surface marks and slight discolouration along sections of the ribs, with minor spotting around the upper crown. No tears or holes.
