Castellyn, Netherlands 1970","description":"This chair is a striking example of minimalist design, emphasizing both simplicity and elegant form. When designing it for Castelijn, Gijs Bakker aimed to create a piece that was functional yet visually captivating. He used curved pine wooden strips to form a lightweight, graceful silhouette while leaving the construction and materials visible, reflecting his belief that design should be honest. The seat and backrest consist of six wooden strips, each approximately 11 cm wide, giving the chair its distinctive “striped” appearance. Designed to be stackable and practical for everyday use, the chair also functions as a work of art, seamlessly merging aesthetic expression with utility. Through this design, Bakker created furniture that is as beautiful as it is utilitarian, embodying the principles of mid-century Dutch modernism.","brand":"AURELIEN SERRE","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":68352292422022,"sku":null,"price":12435.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0671\/5290\/4457\/files\/jiri5md0hgeerzvi7deg.jpg?v=1793886205","url":"https:\/\/oblist.mom\/fr\/products\/gijs-bakker-set-of-6-stackable-blonde-pine-chairs-ed-castellyn-netherlands-1970","provider":"The Oblist","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
