A wide, compressed body swells to a broad shoulder, then draws in sharply toward a small foot, giving the piece a poised, almost spinning silhouette. Above, a short neck rises into a wide, flat lip that opens like a disc. Rust, burnt sienna and deep orange spread across the upper body, held within a fine web of crackle left by the smoke. Toward the base the colour gives way to smoky bronze and soft metallic gold, while sweeps of black drift across the shoulder where flame and reduction have taken hold.
