Part of my formal language develops from the careful observation of my surroundings. The forest plays a recurring role in this. What interests me there are certain conditions, like light meeting different densities, surfaces that age, grow, or break open. These experiences have accompanied me for many years. In the working process they reappear as tactile and structural references. Not as a depiction, but as a translation into material. In this way a connection arises between outer perception and inner image, which manifests through my hands in the form. My hands take on a guiding role and I find orientation through the material, through experience and trust. Observations, impressions, and inner images flow through my hands and through the material directly into the work.
