Scenarii Edition

Manifest collection, the Torii tables explore the relationship between the imperfect richness of reclaimed materials and the rigor of a mirror-polished stainless steel structure. Returning to a square format, its structural module draws inspiration from the Japanese Torii gate, giving this geometric composition both a lightness and a sculptural presence. Here, mirror-polished stainless steel engages in dialogue with the warmth of walnut, creating a tension between metallurgical precision, the craftsmanship of woodworking, and the natural irregularities of the wood.

The top is composed of slats reassembled from collected offcuts and carefully reworked, revealing the beauty of fragmented material while generating a pattern born from repetition. The legs, formed by cross-shaped columns, embody both stability and complexity, while the mirror-polished steel stretchers lend the top a sense of visual lightness and suspension. Produced in a limited series, each piece carries the singularities of its original materials. This structural component creates a visual and constructive continuity throughout the body of work, combining architectural rigor with a sculptural presence.

The orthogonal wooden structure is carefully assembled to reveal the irregularities , the depth and warmth of the walnut, while the mirror-polished steel legs contrast with a precise structural insertion. The cross-shaped base, signature motif of the collection, provides both stability and a distinctive graphic identity. An oculus carved through the backrest and seat establishes a visual axis through the chair. This opening sets the stage for the insertion of a precious element : a hand-crafted glass disc developed through glass-fusing experimentation.

Delicately suspended by slender stainless steel rods, the glass element floats within the oculus and can pivot along its vertical axis. This jewel-like insertion transforms the chair into more than a functional object. The glass catches and refracts light, creating subtle reflections and movements as it turns, while emphasizing the relationship between transparency and mass. The Oculus Chair thus operates at the intersection of furniture, architecture, and artwork, where material exploration and precision craftsmanship converge to create a piece that is both tactile and contemplative.

A manifesto piece from Scenarii Edition, the coffee table explores the relationship between the imperfect richness of reused materials and the rigor of a mirror-polished stainless-steel frame.
